Two announcements for today: first, this weblog will for now on be in English. Maybe I will write more often this way... The second one is far more important, as today I started working at Activity Central. AC is an US based company which provides free software support and development for OLPC deployments and the Sugar learning platform in countries around the globe -currently Uruguay, Afghanistan and Australia.
I'm joining the team as Chief Technology Officer, and I'm very excited about it. It will be an opportunity to work with extraordinary hackers and to help development countries by extending free software in schools. The main services AC provides are built on top of Sugar, and both TOAST and Trisquel are in the interests of the company, so don't worry fellow Trisquelers as this will not drag me away from my duty (besides, it is a part time job, so it will help sustain the distro).

Un minuto de grabación de uno de mis primeros intentos usando Ninjam, un programa libre para tocar con gente online. Si eres músico quizá te preguntes cómo es posible tocar varias personas colaborativamente a través de internet, si con solo unos milisegundos de retraso tocar se vuelve imposible... El truco es que si en vez de ser unos milisegundos el retraso se amplia hasta ser varios compases, la cosa cambia por completo!
No se quienes son el resto para poder dar el crédito apropiado, pero suenan al menos un batería, teclista, bajo, y dos guitarras. Yo soy el guitarra solista (Fender Stratocaster conectada directa mediante una pedalera Zoom G7.1UT).

El raku-yaki (楽焼) es una técnica tradicional oriental de elaboración de cerámica utilitaria. Se cree que es originaria de Corea, sin embargo es en Japón donde ha florecido y encantado a todos los que tienen contacto con ella. Desde finales del siglo XVI el rakú atrajo a los maestros del té, influidos por la filosofía budista zen, quienes sintieron un placer singular en este retorno consciente al directo y primitivo tratamiento de la arcilla. Durante la ceremonia del té los participantes bebían la infusión en vasijas fabricadas por ellos mismos. El kanji (ideograma, equivalente a palabra) raku significa tranquilidad, pero también "diversión" o "felicidad".
